We currently stage our Art Fairs at the Lahaina Cannery Mall on the lawn in the middle of the Mall parking lot, and additional Art Fairs will be held at a venue to be announced in downtown Lahaina. Come join us! Help support our community and celebrate everything that makes Maui unique.
The Lahaina Arts Society charity programs have been in existence for more than 30 years. In 2018, the Lahaina Arts Guild was formed as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to educating children and veterans in the visual arts. The Guild currently offers free weekly children's art classes around Maui County and awards art scholarships to high school students. The Guild partners with Maui United Way and teaches art at King Kamehameha III Elementary School and at low-income housing complexes.
The Lahaina Arts Society was incorporated as a non-profit in 1967, opened its Banyan Tree Art Gallery in the Old Lahaina Courthouse in 1969, and has been a global destination for art collectors ever since. The Courthouse was built in 1859, and the world-famous Banyan Tree outside was planted in 1873.
Beyond the sale of exquisite art, the Lahaina Arts Society supports children’s art education. We have extensive community involvement through scholarships, the Annual Lahaina Poster Contest, and care and maintenance of the Old Lahaina Courthouse. We partner with the Lahaina Arts Guild and Maui United Way.
The historic Old Lahaina Courthouse in the center of Lahaina was constructed as the seat of government for Maui, Hawaii in 1859 with courts, a jail and a post office. The Lahaina Arts Society renovated the old post office in 1969 and the Banyan Tree Gallery was born.

Many of our artists are experienced award-winning painters, ceramicists, jewelers, glass blowers, metal sculptors, woodworkers and photographers, and many are talented beginners. All have had to appear and present before an art jury of their peers.
So, DISCOVER AND COLLECT! Recall when Titanic’s Rose views her beloved art collection, and her fiancé tells her the paintings “will not amount to a thing” …Picasso, Monet, Degas. Rose collected them because she loved them and, at the time, they were modestly priced. Be a Rose, and in these pages discover stunning artists and find what you love!
